A Bright Future – Revisiting with Jorge (Junior)

Thank you to our many supporters and friends for making a difference in the lives of kids and adults with disabilities! Your support has given families like Jorge’s the resources they need to live their best lives. Last year, we introduced you to Jorge, a young member of our Family Support Program.

When Jorge was in middle school, his mom struggled to find disability resources for his needs. She was so relieved when she discovered Life Navigators. Now, Jorge’s career aspiration is to become a sports broadcaster. Because of this, last year, we coordinated a job shadow experience for him at ESPN Milwaukee and Good Karma Brand’s studios.

Your support has inspired his bright future. This year, Jorge became the first person in his family to attend college. He is studying Journalism at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and excels in his classes. Thanks to his job shadowing experience, he has confidence in his career path.

With your support, Jorge has been given opportunities to pursue his career dreams and advocate for individuals with disabilities. Jorge has been practicing his announcer voice all around town, giving speeches at seminars, making self-advocacy YouTube videos, and even writing essays for local publications on the importance of being a self-advocate.

With your support, Jorge has a bright future ahead. Watch the attached video and hear from Jorge himself about how Life Navigators has helped him achieve his goals!
