Providing Connections and Support: Meet Laura & Sara

Meet Laura and Sara.  Once Sara graduated from high school, Laura struggled to find community connections and opportunities for her daughter to express herself.

Always looking for ways to enrich Sara’s life, Laura heard about Life Navigators’ Coffee Connections program, our support group for caregivers.  After attending a session and hearing stories from other caregivers, Laura knew she was in the right place. Now a regular attendee, Laura enjoys sharing experiences with others in the group.

“Now I have a place to share and learn about ways I can enhance and improve my care for Sara.”

Laura and Sara are in the early stages of planning for the future through our Family Support and Futures Planning programs. Sara has also become an active and proud member of our Women’s Group. Her favorite activities are bingo, game nights and drum circles.

“It is a great feeling to have a place that supports the caregiver and the client, and has resources for both of us.”              

Most of all, both Laura and Sara appreciate the hands-on, personalized care that Life Navigators provides. Sara enjoys all the staff and other Women’s Group members she interacts with, and Laura appreciates Life Navigators’ people-first mission.
