Navigating Transition – Meet Jocelyn

Meet Jocelyn. Jocelyn is a member of our Guardianship Program, which secures the safety and happiness of individuals with disabilities who do not have a family member to provide this essential monitoring and support.

Jocelyn is so grateful for her Life Navigators Guardianship Representative, Elin, who helped her navigate her senior year of high school. Thanks to her supports, Jocelyn attended prom and graduated with her class. She could not contain her excitement as she and Elin danced the night away at the Wild West Prom. Jocelyn, who is nonverbal, also had the biggest smile as she received her diploma!

It can be difficult for individuals with disabilities to transition from high school to adult life in the community. Elin is helping Jocelyn make the decisions that will give her the highest quality of life. She is assisting Jocelyn in finding the best supportive living situation and potentially pursuing more schooling opportunities. Through the constant change in the past year, Jocelyn has always had a smile thanks to her supports and dedicated staff.
