Empowering Happy and Active Lives – Meet Lucy

Meet Lucy.  Lucy enjoys listening to the radio, going for walks and shopping at Bayshore Mall.  She is involved with Special Olympics and participates in track, bocce ball and snowshoeing.  Lucy also loves working with paint and markers to create beautiful pieces of art.  She proudly shows her artwork to her Life Navigators care manager and nurse.

Lucy is a member of our Care Management Unit, which coordinates long-term care services for individuals with disabilities.  Lucy’s care manager checks in with her once a month to make sure she has the supports she needs to live independently.  Her care manager also arranges Lucy’s transportation services, which she would be unable to do on her own.  This means so much to Lucy because she loves getting out of the house and staying busy!

Lucy has been working and volunteering in our community for over 30 years.  She works at TJ Maxx and assists with labeling and organizing their clothing.  Most recently, Lucy has been able to put her organization skills to good use by volunteering at the Life Navigators office.  Lucy is always happy to help and often assists with putting stickers on our toiletry bags, organizing our supply room and assembling various packets.

Your investment will provide impactful services to Lucy and many others.  Through your generosity, individuals with disabilities will have the support network to successfully live, work and volunteer in our community.
