Securing the Future for Kids & Adults – The Giving of Dave & Carol Anderson
Dave & Carol are great friends of Life Navigators and have been connected for over 30 years. Dave served on our board, and together they co-chaired our Challenger Event for ten years. We were delighted to name them as our 2016 Challenger Honorees. Their son Dan, is a member of our Self-Advocacy & Independence Program. Dan’s involvement in our Men’s Group has expanded his independent living skills and strengthened his leadership abilities in our community.
The need for disability services has continued to grow, and in 2016, we completed a major building addition to expand our services and ensure safe, happy and healthy lives. Purchasing the property next door allowed us to double our space and respond more efficiently to individuals and families needing assistance. However, we soon realized that in order to fully commit our resources to our vital programs impacting individuals with disabilities and their families, we needed to eliminate our building debt.
Dave & Carol had already included Life Navigators in their Planned Giving, and in 2019 when they saw our need, they decided to designate their gift early to make an immediate impact. Their generosity along with the support of our many friends and donors allowed us to meet our campaign goal and operate completely debt-free. Thanks to their wonderful gift, we can secure the future for kids and adults and continue to meet the growing need for disability services.
